Miss You Dad

Where are you dad, where have you gone?
You know you were the only one.
Lifting me up when I was down,
Making me smile instead of frown.
Then one day, not so long ago
You couldn't stay you had to go.
Faced each day chin up with pride,
Buried the pain deep down inside.
Fought so hard and finally lost,
This final fight with such a cost.
Watched helpless as you slipped away,
The only words that I could say,
It's ok Dad now you can rest
This illness had been such a test,
I miss you with each passing day,
And more than any words can say.
